16th Elementary School of Athens performs Shakespeare and more..
On the 8th June 2011, pupils of the 16th Elementary School of Athens at Ampelokipi performed 'Midsummer Night's Dream' under the guidance of English teacher Suzana Mesic. The pupils were word-perfect and their performance equalled that of native speakers of English. Every pupil in the school took part and those not in Shakespeare's play performed short humourous sketches, in part written by Susan. A' class, under the guidance of their teacher Eleni Voyatzi, also sang and performed 'Old MacDonald's got a Farm" perfectly with actions. The performance took place in the school auditorium on the new stage built by the school committee. It is such excellent cooperation between this school and the community it serves that gives us hope for our children's future. Congratulations to headmistress Mrs Eleni Vareli , all the teaching staff, parents and pupils.
